Pure From Dross
Ro 12:20 Therefore if thine
enemy hunger, feed him; if he thirst, give him drink: for in so doing thou shalt
heap coals of fire on his head.
…In the kind warmth the metal
learns to glow, And pure from dross the silver runs below.-John Wesley
A family is heavy on my mind.
Sometimes selfishly wanting God to make the truth be known of their lies and deception.
Sometimes because I still love them dearly even though they caused my family so
much hurt and pain. Its been a little over 2 years, many tears and much
heartache, but I still love them.
I came across the verse from John
Wesley’s notes on this verse. I always thought it was more of a negative
against the enemy, but it seems to be like a fire that purifies the silver. The
act of love toward this “enemy” actually purifies their hearts!
Ro 12:21 Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good.
Ac 7:59 And they stoned
Stephen..
Ac 7:60 And he kneeled down, and cried with a loud voice, Lord, lay not
this sin to their charge…
I was convicted reading Stevens
account. He loved them enough to ask God to not lay the side of killing him to
their charge.
In my world, this is still not
easy to pray. But, I do. God will bring that tender love for our “enemies” that
only He can work in our hearts.
Lord show me how I may bless. Not
for anything of my gain. But for Your honor and glory. May You mold this heart
to love those who hate us.
Mt 21:22 And all things,
whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive.
1Jo 5:14 And this is the confidence
that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he
heareth us:
1Jo 5:15 And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that
we have the petitions that we desired of him.
It is Gods will for christian brothers
and sisters to reconcile. I know in Gods perfect timing, repentance and
reconciliation will happen.
Thank You Lord for the treasure of
Your word and the promises it holds!
