My Mouth

Oh Lord my mouth! My heart!

 

You ever open your mouth and then hear how you really feel about something?

 

Mt 12:34 …for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh.

 

Yep. I am ashamed to say that I was unwise. I opened my mouth with good intentions and ended up seeing my anger and bitterness.

 

Pr 18:21 Death and life are in the power of the tongue…

 

Oh how our mouths can ruin our testimony for Christ!

 

I keep going back to that verse…

 

Mt 12:34 …for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh.

Great plenty; an overflowing quantity; ample sufficiency

 

It’s not a passing thought. It was the overflowing and ample supply of bitterness that my mouth spoke…

 

Pr 13:3 He that keepeth his mouth keepeth his life: but he that openeth wide his lips shall have destruction.

 

Yep, there was destruction all right. And a good “spanking” from God.

 

Pr 21:23 Whoso keepeth his mouth and his tongue keepeth his soul from troubles.

 

Oh Lord! My heart cries unto You:

Ps 19:14 Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O LORD, my strength, and my redeemer.
